Another illustration of the intertwined nature of Narconon and the Church of Scientology in the 1970s. This document is an L. Ron Hubbard Executive Directive issued in 1972 to Lt Col Mark Jones who was, at the time, the Director of Narconon. (See "Declaration of Mark Jones" for his own account of his time at Narconon.) The document is signed by David Gaiman, who was at the time the Deputy Guardian for Public Relations World Wide (DG PR WW) at the Church of Scientology's Guardian's Office. In recognition for Jones' work at Narconon, it awards him a "Class IX" training level. This is the "Hubbard Advanced Technical Specialist" course which "contains data concerning advanced procedures and developments" in Scientology.
